Four Questions with the Orland Chamber’s New Board President

Orland Park resident Marc Lochow of Printsource Plus has taken the helm at the Orland Park Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Marc Lochow believes the local chamber of commerce can play a big role in making local businesses thrive. Lochow bought Printsource Plus in Blue Island from his parents nine years ago. The Orland Park resident has been a chamber member since 2004 and last week was installed as its president. Patch caught up with him this week to talk about the economy, taking over a family business and effectively letting people know what a business can offer. What prepared you to take over the family business started decades ago by your parents? Thanks to my parents, I have been involved in printing and marketing my entire life. Besides working at the family business since I was a kid, I worked at other print shops while in college and after graduating. I…

Firehouse Subs Helping Youth, Emergency Responders Through Sandwiches

New Orland Park sub shop serves sizable steamed-meat sandwiches, and helps youths gain work experience while raising money for firefighters, police and paramedics.

The restaurant serves a variety of sandwiches, several with steamed meat and cheese. While customers pick through about 20 different sandwiches, as well as salads, soup and sides, staff members often offer their own favorite selections. But for Vanderbilt and his wife Christine, Firehouse’s style of assistance goes beyond helping people make the right choice for lunch or dinner. “We’re very interested in helping the …

A sandwich is not just a sandwich...they have an excellent brisket sandwich and you cannot get that at any old sub place. My husband had the chef salad for only six dollars and really liked it. At least it's easier to access their parking lot than Dickeys, who had good food such as brisket...but it was difficult to access their parking and now we see they are out of business.   more ›

And the Winner of Our Holiday Gift Card Basket Is...

We collected over $400 of gift cards and certificates from Orland Park businesses that will go to our lucky winner before Christmas. And we donated the equivalent dollar amount to Hurricane Sandy relief.

It is our great pleasure to announce the winner of our first Orland Park Patch Holiday Gift Card Basket. About 400 people entered, and the generous businesses listed below offered their wares and services in support of Hurricane Sandy relief. The businesses gave enough for Patch to donate $405.85 to the American Red Cross for Sandy victims. This is an effort near to our hearts, as hundreds of our siblings out east were affected greatly by the tremendous storm. Our winner is Denise Arnashus from Lemont! Congrats Denise. Here are the cards and certificates she won: A big thank you from us at Patch to everyone who participated. Happy holidays to you all! Sign up for Orland Park Patch breaking news alerts.
