Orland Park Home Sales Up Slightly as Chicago Area Hits Six-Year High

Orland Park's real estate market perked up a pinch in September, as the bulk of the Chicago area saw a bump in year-over-year comparisons. See how the village fared compared to nearby towns.

Home sales in the Chicago area during September were at a six-year high, according to a recent RE/MAX report—and most of the Southland saw a similar boost. Orland Park saw a slight increase in the area, with the number of homes sold increasing from 19 sold in Sept. 2011 to 22 sold in Sept. 2012, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). On the down side for Orland's market, the average price of those homes decreased slightly by 3 percent year over year, from $283,942 to $275,318. Across the Chicago area, the number of homes sold in September rose by 22 percent over September 2011, according to RE/MAX.
