Man Caught Trying to Open Car Roof with Knife

An Orland Park man is also accused of stealing from several cars in the village and in nearby unincorporated Cook County Wednesday morning.

A 21-year-old Orland Park man is facing felony charges after he was seen cutting open a Jeep’s roof, and was later caught with stolen items from other car burglaries, according to police. The Orland Park Police Department was called about a man seen in the 14000 block of Timothy Drive using a knife to cut open the roof of a Jeep Wrangler around 6:07 a.m., according to a release. The man ran from the area when the caller approached him, and responding officers chased him on foot, police said. Officers caught him at the Michael Drive and Sheri Lane intersection. Police found items on him stolen from at least six other vehicles in Orland Park, and others in unincorporated Cook County, according to the release. The other burglaries also …

ARREST WARRANTS: Wanted in Orland Park

There are warrants out for the arrest of 79 people in the 60462 area of Orland Park.

Aleksandra Cichalewski, 60, is wanted on a warrant for retail theft. The warrant was issued August 19, 1999, and bail was set at $10,000. Her last known address was in the 15200 block of Stratford Lane in Orland Park. Dale Estes, 39, is wanted on a warrant for motor vehicle theft. The warrant was issued on July 13, 2012, and bail was set at $40,000. His last known address was in the 15200 block of Orland Court in Orland Park Pedro Fiscal, 25, is wanted on a warrant for obstructing a peace officer. The warrant was issued on Sept. 23, 2011, and bail was set at $5,000. His last known address was in the 9800 block of El Cameno Real in Orland Park. Police: Man Shoves Cop, Says 'White Suburban' Kids Like Him Don't Deserve to be Arrested

He couldn't pay $78 taxi bill from downtown Chicago, police said.

Are white suburban kids above the law? Robert C. McAlister, 21, of the 14400 block of Wooded Path Lane in Orland Park, was charged with battery, resisting a police officer and theft of services after refusing to pay for a taxi cab ride from downtown Chicago, police said. The cabbie called police on April 15 around 2 a.m. regarding an intoxicated man who had fallen asleep in his backseat and refused to get up. Police said McAlister became belligerent when they woke him, and he started cursing and flashing his middle finger. He was tackled to the ground after placing both of his hands on an officer’s chest and then continued to struggle against being handcuffed, police said. Police Smash Windows to Yank Man Out of Car after Wild Ride

Hazel Crest man charged with 10 offenses, including DUI, resisting arrest and reckless driving, after wreaking havoc with car.

An intoxicated Hazel Crest man who struck a car, drove on the wrong side of the street and refused to shut off his engine was dragged out of his car at the conclusion of one wild ride, police said. Charles E. Colston, 56, of the 17100 block of Longfellow Avenue, was arrested and charged with 10 offenses, including driving under the influence, resisting arrest and reckless driving. Police said they tried to stop Colston's car on April 8 around 11:30 p.m. near 151st Street and La Grange Road after receiving six 911 complaints about someone striking another car and a sign in the median lane. Kestutis Petraitis, 44, of the 8500 block of Fir Street in Orland Park, was charged with domestic battery. Police were called about a domestic disturbance in the 8500 block of Fir Street around 11 a.m. Police said Petraitis and a woman were arguing when he struck her in the left side of her head twice. His right hand had small cuts on it and a small amount of blood was found around her left ear, according to the report. Zoran Mirceski, 38, of the 8800 block of South Harlem Avenue in Bridgeview, was charged with driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, improper lane use and improper stopping in a roadway.
