Christopher J. Dyson, 18, of Markham, was charged Saturday with murder and armed robbery in connection with Thursday's fatal shooting in a Tinley Park 7-Eleven parking lot, according to a Village of Tinley Park press release. He is being held without bail, and his next court date will be Tuesday, March 26, at the Bridgeview courthouse, a village spokesman said Saturday. A 33-year-old Orland Hills man was charged Tuesday with reckless homicide in connection with a crash that killed a 50-year-old Tinley Park woman Sunday, according to the Tinley Park Police Department. Police arrested a 50-year-old Orland Park man who they said had been stealing from his work, a local doughnut shop, for more than a year. Yashes B. Amin, of the 9100 block of Boardwalk Terrace in Orland Park, was arrested Aug. 2 and charged with one felony count of theft. Tinley Park police said that between May 2011 and June 1, he'd stolen at least $1,596.81 in cash from the Dunkin Donuts store he managed at 9510 179th St. in Tinley Park. He had been employed by Dunkin Donuts since 2008, but came to the local store as a manager on May 21, 2011, according to the police report. Five Indiana men were accused of felony mob action, among other charges, during a Monday afternoon court appearance. Two men who prosecutors say were targeted in the Ashford House attack were charged separately.
Bail was set Monday for five Indiana men who stood as a group in connection with a Saturday afternoon mob-style attack in Tinley Park. Two among those targeted in the attack, who officials say are associated with white supremacist organizations, were also charged. They appeared before a judge separately. Dylan J. A witness to a three-vehicle accident in Orland Park Sunday night that caused the death of three Tinley Park family members told police a street sweeper ran a red light at an intersection, which led to the crash. The man driving the street sweeper has been cited with disobeying a traffic control device for running the red light, Orland Park Police Commander John Keating said Thursday. “One witness saw the whole accident in its entirety and clearly stated the street sweeper disobeyed the red light, making no attempt to stop,” Keating said. “We won’t be getting into specifics of where that witness was until the accident reconstruction is complete.” Police have held off from releasing the street sweeper driver’s name pending the crash’s …

Police arrested an area man in February who they said burglarized the Target in Brookside Marketplace. He was detained in a wooded area behind the shopping complex, according to reports.
Police recently apprehended a man in a field behind Brookside Marketplace after he escaped Super Target through a fire door with bags of groceries, they said. Officers charged Justin C. Jachimiec, 22, of Orland Park, with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He entered Super Target, 7300 W. 191st Street in Tinley Park around 4 p.m. Feb. 14, when he reportedly grabbed grocery bags from behind a counter and began stuffing them with items. Cops arrested an Orland Hills woman a week ago who they said threw in the towel during a sobriety test.
While being sobriety tested on Friday, an Orland Hills woman told police she drank "two beers, then two more beers" before getting behind the wheel, according to police. Officers pulled over Kelli J. Bordner, 27, of the 9200 block of 169th Place around 3 a.m. near the intersection of 191st Street and Brookside Glen Drive in Tinley Park. They said she disregarded a red light, three "no turn on red" signs and was weaving in her lane before they stopped her. Tinley police said they noticed Bordner's eyes were bloodshot and that she smelled like alcohol.
