Target of Saturday's Attack Believed to be White Supremacists, Mayor Says

Tinley Park Mayor Ed Zabrocki said police are looking at an anti-racism group as the source of the attack.

Tinley Park Mayor Ed Zabrocki said police believe those involved in Saturday’s mob attack inside a local restaurant came from a group called Anti-Racist Action. Zabrocki told the Chicago Tribune the police are examining the possible connection with the group and that they also believe the target of the attack was a gathering of white supremacists. Eyewitnesses told Patch the attackers were armed with bats and hammers. The website's post credited the attack to a group of “anti-fascists” who directly targeted the gathering. Ashford House …

UPDATED: Theft, Not Forgery Charges For Park District President

Brian Younker, 40, of Tinley Park, spent the night in Will County Jail after Tinley Park Police arrested him on forgery charges, records show.

Although the original arrest report said felony forgery, Tinley Park Park District President Brian H. Younker, re-elected to a fifth term in April, has been charged with misdemeanor theft of money from his ex-wife, Will County State's Attorney's Office Spokesman Chuck Pelkie said. Younker, 40, of the 7700 block of Bristol Park, Tinley Park spent the night in the Will County Jail on Thursday, held on suspicion of felony forgery, jail records show. But when the state's attorney's office reviewed Younker's case Friday morning, they charged him with misdemeanor theft instead, Pelkie said. "The charge alleges that his ex-wife is the victim in this case, but the charge itself doesn’t specify an amount and it doesn’t give details in this case," …

Vandals Arrested After Walking by Witness, Police Say

Three 18-year-old men confessed to vandalizing mailboxes, police said.

Three local teens would have gotten away with it, too … if they hadn’t walked right by the police officer interviewing a witness, police said. Two 18-year-olds from Orland Hills and one from Tinley Park were arrested on suspicion of vandalizing mailboxes on May 14, police said. The trio are accused of vandalizing mailboxes at five homes on the 8400 block of Budigen Lane and one on the 17400 block of Castle Drive.
