Burr Ridge Teen in Deadly Head-on Palos Wreck Drunk & High: Prosecutor

The 19-year-old college student tested positive for cocaine, marijuana, alcohol, amphetamines and other drugs, a prosecutor said.

A Burr Ridge college student jailed after a deadly head-on crash hobbled into court on crutches and learned he would be going home. Cook County Judge Carmen Aguilar set bail for 19-year-old Nicholas Puccinelli at $250,000 during a Thursday morning hearing at the Bridgeview Courthouse. Puccinelli's attorney, Paul Moreschi of Oakbrook Terrace, said the teen's family was going to pay the $25,000 needed to secure his release from the Cook County Jail Thursday. "I'm confident that my client's family is going to post bond today," Moreschi said. Orland Park Police Blotter: Driver Accused of Texting and Driving While on Xanax

Orland Park police reports, Jan. 11-15

TUESDAY, JAN. 15 Police were called about an erratic driver near 153rd Street and LaGrange Road around 10:05 p.m., and spotted a car matching the description as it struck a raised median strip at 151st Street and LaGrange Road. The car spun to the right of the road, jumped the curb and stopped, police said. The driver stepped out of the car, he spoke slowly and appeared to be disorientated, but he declined medical help, according to the report. The driver later told paramedics that he had taken xanax about 30 minutes before the accident, according to the report.
