Orland Park police reports: Sept. 6-12
FRIDAY, SEPT. 12 Police were called about a retail theft in progress at Macy’s around 1:20 p.m., where a woman was running north in the parking lot away from security. Security said the woman was seen selecting several items from a display, and then walking into a dressing room, police said. When she left the dressing room, security said her purse looked noticeably more full than when she entered, according to the report. The woman then left the store without paying, police said. The woman ran when security tried to stop her, and dumped the taken items in a bush near the parking lot, police said. The items are worth $113.90, police said. FRIDAY, JUNE 29 Police pulled over an SUV after seeing it changing lanes repeatedly without signaling and crossing over the center line, while near 157th Street and LaGrange Road around 11:55 p.m. The driver’s breath smelled like alcohol and she failed field sobriety tests, police said. Laura R. Pinto, 46, of the 7500 block of Claremont Drive in Tinley Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level greater than .08, improper lane use and driving a vehicle without a plate cover. SATURDAY, NOV. 26 Ryan B. Tomchaney, 18, of the 8700 block of Adria Court in Orland Park, was charged with underage consumption of alcohol. Police were called to Adria Court and Beverly Lane at 1:46 a.m. and found a man, later identified as Tomchaney, lying in the street. He allegedly told police he had drank a large amount of alcohol in a forest preserve before attempting to walk home, and passed out a block from his house, according to the report. FRIDAY, NOV. 25 Alante Gayton, 18, of the 2900 block of 140th Place in Blue Island, was charged with retail theft.
