Guinevere Grimstad, Campus Director

A Campus Director’s main goal is to help families understand what the needs are of their musician, and how the Music Institute of Chicago can create a successful beginning for that student whether they are 3 or 73. In the unique position as one of MIC's experienced Campus Directors, Guinevere is versed in piano, voice, violin, guitar and harp instruction.

In her teaching career Guinevere has had a studio of 15+ students ranging in age from 6-60 in voice, piano, and violin. She has also studied harp, and guitar. She speaks Italian, French, and German, and has a working knowledge of sung Spanish, Latin, Polish and Hungarian.

In her performance career Guinevere has appeared with Miami Lyric Opera, Genesis Opera Chicago, da Corneto Opera Chicago, the Mazatlán Cultural Festival Mexico, and Opera Quad Cities. She has worked with conductors Enrique Patron de Rueda, Doris Lang Kosloff, Giampaolo Bracali, Robert Ashens, and others. She is a Young Artist Division Bel Canto Competition Award winner, and was a semi-finalist for the Competizione dell'Opera in Dresden, Germany. She has also been the Music Director at Northbrook UMC since September 2003 where they have an annual Messiah Sunday.

In her Administrative career Mrs. Grimstad was the Database Administrator for The Great Books Foundation, and the Administrative Secretary and direct liaison to the Board of Directors for University Christian Ministry at NU.
