Car Strikes Pedestrian in Early-Morning Crash
Northbound traffic was blocked off on 80th Avenue near Wheeler Drive Sunday morning.
A pedestrian was hospitalized Sunday morning after being struck by a car on 80th Avenue.
The person was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to an Orland Park Fire Protection District official. The victim's condition and identity were not immediately known.
The crash happened at about 5:10 a.m. just south of the intersection of 80th Avenue and Wheeler Drive. One Patch reader said northbound traffic on 80th Avenue was blocked off until after 8:30 a.m.
