Second Suspect Wanted in Friday Home Invasion and Shooting

Police have identified a second suspect in Friday’s home invasion where a 30-year-old man was shot at as he followed his alleged attackers in a car chase through Orland Park.

Warren L. Hunter, 31, of the 200 block of Tyler Street in Gary, Indiana, is wanted on a $350,000 warrant, Orland Park police said. Hunter is believed to have fired at the victim both inside the Orland Park house and while the victim chased after him and other assailants, said Orland Park Police Cmdr. John Keating.

Hunter is the second suspect police have named. .

Four people now are believed to be involved in the home invasion, police said.

The 30-year-old man was being treated for non-life threatening injuries after he was shot at least three times during a home invasion in 10900 block of Antelope Lane, police said.

Two men armed with handguns broke into the house through the garage, demanded money and jewelry, and then shot the 30-year-old man before fleeing in a silver PT Cruiser, police said.

The shooting victim followed his attackers in his own vehicle, police said. The gunmen continued firing shots at the victim while they were driving. The 30-year-old man eventually lost sight of them near Harlem Avenue and flagged down a patrol officer.

The man’s fiancée, two girls ages 5 and 6 and a nanny were at home during the incident but were unharmed, police said. The fiancée remained behind and had called 911 during the chase.

Police said the victim was “obviously injured” but “alert” when they spoke with him after the shooting.

Hunter is described as 5-foot, 3-inches tall, 124 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes.
