Stack of Escort Ads Found on Desk of Slain Brother Rice Teacher

Multiple escort ads were discovered in the home of a Brother Rice teacher, where it's believed a prostitute stabbed him to death in January.

A beloved Brother Rice High School teacher stabbed to death—allegedly by a woman he found on a hookup site—seems to have dabbled in the site before, with nearly two dozen escort ads found on his desk, Sun-Times Media reports.

Police discovered 20 escort ads from Backpage.com on the desk of Al Filan, who was stabbed 14 times and died in the kitchen of his Orland Park home where he was found Jan. 21.

Prosecutors allege Alisha Walker, a prostitute Filan chose from the notorious hookup site, argued with Filan over money and stabbed him in the back of his neck, chest, left arm and abdomen, according to an autopsy. He also sustained defensive wounds to his arms.

Assistant State’s Attorney John Dillon previously said police found Walker after examining Filan's phone and finding text messages to a phone number connected to the website. Walker had previously pleaded guilty to prostitution charges at least three times, according to the report.

The young woman's family claims Filan threatened Walker and a companion with a knife and she killed him in self-defense.
