Sandburg Senior Selected for U.S. Army Marching Band
Carl Sandburg High School Senior Mike Roberts is one of 125 students selected from across the country to play at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in January.
Mike Roberts, a senior at Carl Sandburg High School, was chosen to play trumpet with the U.S. Army All-American Marching Band.
Roberts was recognized at a ceremony at Carl Sandburg High School in September for being one of 125 students from across the country to play in the band. The group will perform at half time on Jan. 4 during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
Roberts has been a drum major for the Eagles for the past two years and is a member of the school's marching, jazz, concert and basketball bands, according to a release from Consolidated High School District 230. He was honored in front of fellow band members, school faculty, U.S. Army representatives and his family.
