Lane Closures and Delays Expected on Tri-State Tollway Near I-57 in Coming Days

12 new beams will be installed as part of the interchange construction.

Lanes will be closed on Interstate 294 Saturday and Sunday and next weekend while beams are installed for the new overpasses as part of the ongoing work on the Tri-State Tollway/I-57 Interchange Project.

There will be overnight lane reductions and intermittent full closures on I-294 scheduled for two consecutive weekends. Delays are expected.

The closures are needed for placement of 12 beams over I-294 as the Tollway constructs the new ramp connecting northbound I-57 to the northbound I-294. Cranes will lift six, 40,000-pound steel beams into place each weekend.
