Sandburg Jams Its Way to National Cheerleading Championship in Indy

Sandburg won the high school division national title at the Jamfest Cheer Super Nationals in Indianapolis. The Eagles finished with a scored of 91.97 and were recognized as the most entertaining unit on the floor.

Once was nice. Twice, was title-worthy.

“The team had two strong performances over the weekend,” Sandburg cheerleading coach Mike Bruce said following the Eagles’ national championship effort at the Jamfest Cheer Super Nationals.

“We were very proud of their effort and energy level on stage. We look forward to improving our performance level as we enter the IHSA state series.”

Sandburg gained the national title in the high school non-spring floor division. Bruce said about 25 high school teams competed for hardware at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis Jan. 13-15.

The Eagles finished with a score of 91.97 and were named grand champions (highest score of all teams) and were recognized as the most entertaining unit on the floor.
