Eagles Hockey Celebrates Seniors with WINNING weekend of hockey!

The Eagles Hockey Club honored its 12 seniors at the home game against Neuqua Valley on Saturday, January 19th, bringing home a WIN for the Club and a 4-0 shutout for senior goalie Taylor Dignan.

The Senior Night festivities began with introductions of the seniors by Varsity players Nathan McCatty (junior) and Eric Simkowski (freshman). Seniors then skated to their parents on the ice and presented their mothers with roses.  Before the game began, Cecilia Trippiedi, a freshman at Sandburg, led the crowd in the singing of the National Anthem. 

The Eagles' seniors dominated the game against Neuqua Valley, with Eric Saulters posting the first goal for the Eagles early in the first period with David Christel earning the assist. Christel then scored the next 2 goals for the Eagles and Saulters returned the favor earning 2 assists on Christel's goals in addition to Jake Coyne earning an assist for Christel.  Ethan Pelesky completed the senior slam by scoring the 4th and final goal of the game. 

Sunday night's match up between the Eagles and York High School provided additional opportunities for the Eagles seniors to continue their weekend of success. The Eagles defeated York 12-1, with many of the goals being scored by seniors Saulters, Sean Hughes, Michael Florczyk (2 goals), Connor Tietz, and Pelesky.

Graduating Senior Eagles include Luke Botica, David Christel, Jake Coyne, Taylor Dignan, Brendan Egyarto, Jack Fanning, Michael Florczyk, Sean Hughes, Ethan Pelesky, Eric Saulters, Connor Tietz, and Kevin Winston.
