The deep freeze is continuing on Tuesday.
After record breaking -15 degrees weather, with wind chills between 40 and 50 degrees below zero, on Monday, we’re in for some more frigid weather Tuesday. Temperatures are expected to climb back above zero but only to a high of 2 degrees with wind chill still around 40 degrees below. Here are a few things to know about Tuesday.
People with Monday Trash and recycling pickup are still scheduled to have their refuse collected Tuesday, and other scheduled days have been moved back one day later, according to the village. Due to the cold, Waste Management is only able to run 5 trucks, when they usually have 11 collecting for the village, so people usually scheduled for Monday pick up may not have refuse collected until Wednesday. Make sure to keep cans out of the streets, and please be patient.
People in need of a warming center should go to the Orland Park Police Department, 15100 S. Ravinia Ave.
