Orland Park Theatre Troupe's "A Classic Christmas"

Scenes from traditional holiday favorites are the fare for this year’s Orland Park Theatre Troupe’s Christmas show, “A Classic Christmas.”

This heart warming story will appeal to audiences of all ages as it travels through such classics as “White Christmas,” “Holiday Inn,” “It’s A Wonderful Life,” “Miracle On 34th Street,” “A Christmas Carol” and “The Grinch.” 

“The best scenes from everyone’s favorite shows all come together in a beautiful presentation, perfect for the holiday season,” said Orland Park Recreation Operations Manager Irene Buikema, executive producer for the village’s theater program.

“We’ve had a great time putting this show together,” said Producer/Director Frann Carnivele-Sidlow. “It’s exciting to share parts of these classic productions and their songs during the most wonderful time of the year,” she added

The show is directed by Carnivele-Sidlow with Ashley Miletich serving as assistant director and Michael Barr as musical director.

Orland Park residents appearing in the show include Camille Auskalnis, Mikhai Auskalnis, Nikolai Auskalnis, Madeline Carrillo, Eve Foley, Rose Foley, Carrie Fuesel, Amanda Hall, Cara Hall, Ivory Hamill, Joshua Hamill, Allison Kazlauskas, Olivia Lynch, Mollie McCormick, Eve Moyar, Jessie Moyar, Dan Nevinger, Anne Ostrowski, Stephanie Owens, Bryan Riess, Eleanor Rybak, Cameron Szymczak, Natalie Thompson and Taylor Villa.

Those from Tinley Park include Rachael Juwayyid and Marissa Politano. Cast members from Frankfort include Alexis Lubienski, Colleen Lubienski and Lara Lubienski. Oak Lawn residents in the show include Jim Mazeika and Barb Miles. Those from Alsip are Chrissy Morales and Jessica Pyrkowski. Also appearing in the show are Kathy Janik (Lemont), Iris Kalinowski (Homer Glen) and Rudy Chavez (Midlothian).

Performances at the Orland Park Civic Center are Friday, December 9 and Saturday, December 10 at 7:30 p.m. with a Sunday, December 11 matinee at 2:00 p.m.  Reserved seat tickets may be purchased at the Recreation Administrative Office, 14600 South Ravinia Avenue. Adult tickets are $13 while those for seniors and students are $11. Children’s tickets are $9. A limited number of tickets will be available for purchase at the door.

The village’s theatre troupe will hold auditions for its spring musical, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “The King and I,” January 22 and 23. Those age seven through adults are invited to audition for this production that will be performed at the ornate Carl Sandburg High School Performing Arts Center.
