High Point School Reads Together

In honor of Children's Book Week, High Point School held an all-school assembly and 30-minute silent reading for all staff and students.

In honor of Children's Book Week, High Point School Media Specialist Kristy Gilbert and Library Associate Debbie Siegel led an all-school reading event. All teachers and staff members and all students sat together in the gym and read silently for 30 minutes. Laying on beach towels and blankets, in pajamas and comfy clothes, nearly 500 individuals were seen reading a variety of materials. The event kicked off with a sing-a-long and photo slideshow featuring the staff reading their favorite books. Gilbert was pleased to announce that the students had met their goal of earning 10,000 points through the Accelerated Reader program, and so will enjoy a chance to "read under the stars" of the StarLab inflatable planetarium.
