CJB Takes 1st and 2nd Place Awards in Econ Illinois Poster Contest

CJB enters Illinois Econ Poster Contest and wins 1st and 2nd place awards!

The Econ Illinois Economic Concepts Poster Contest Awards Celebration was held on Tuesday, May 14th at Dominican University in River Forest.  As part of their Social Studies unit on Economics, all Cardinal Joseph Bernardin 4th Graders illustrated one of the following economic concepts:  goods & services, producers & consumers, scarcity, or opportunity cost.  The concept posters were entered into the regional contest and twenty-four entries from each region were recognized with awards.   CJB had three First Place winners and one Second Place for the region.  The top twelve entries in the state will be reproduced to create an Econ Illinois Calendar.  Congratulations to CJB 4th Graders:  Hannah G., Natalie M., Nora W., and Izzy S.   Mrs. Drown, CJB’s 4th Grade Social Studies teacher, commented that “the Econ Illinois Poster Contest sparked the creativity and artistic talents of these girls.   This was CJB’s first year to enter in this contest and I am very proud of the extra effort these students put into their posters.”
