Android App Programming 4 Teens (Starts June 20, Register now)

U.S. News & World Report, in their rankings of "The 25 Best Jobs of 2012", ranked five computer related careers in the top nine: Software Developer (#2), Database Administrator (#5), Web Developer (#6), Computer Systems Analyst (#7), and Computer Programmer (#9). Courses in the Teen Programming Series provide teenagers with a valuable introduction to the skills and concepts utilized in these career areas. Each course guides students to create useful and entertaining software applications.

Android App Programming for Teens: This course is an introduction to developing software applications that can be used on Android-powered devices (phones, tablets, etc.). Students will be introduced to basic app development techniques as they follow step-by-step tutorials to develop useful applications. Students will have lab time to try their hand at modifying the applications to enhance them for their own purposes. No textbook is required, but students should bring a 4GB+ USB thumb drive. Software for the course will be provided for free and can be used at home. Ages 13-19.
