Cashier at Orland Park Dick's Duped Out of Tennis Balls & $100

A con man bamboozled a Dick's Sporting Goods Cashier with the old "quick-change" trick.

A garrulous grifter talked a Dick's Sporting Goods cashier out of $100 and a package of tennis balls, police said.

The con man "committed a 'quick-change' theft," police said, perpetrating his trick on a cashier named "Ashley."

Thee man went to purchase a $3.99 package of tennis balls from the Orland Park sporting goods store with a $100 bill, police said. When he was up at Ashley's cash register, the scammer "had a conversation with Ashley and took back the $100 bill without her noticing," police said. "Ashley gave him all the change back from the tennis ball purchase as well as the $100.00 cash."

The man then left the store.

Police were provided with store video of the transaction.
