An Orland Park man is facing a driving under the influence charge, after police saw him take wide turns and almost striking a median strip, according to an Orland Park Police report.

An Orland Park man was accused of driving drunk, after two officers saw him drive over a curb and almost strike a median strip, according to an Orland Park police report.

Kevin B. Gonzalez, 38, of the 15500 block of Sunrise Lane in Orland Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and improper turning.

On Dec. 8, officers saw a car make a wide turn on to 151st Street from LaGrange Road heading east around 3:35 a.m. The driver, Gonzalez, was also seen talking on a cell phone while driving, police said. The car was pulled over after officers saw it strike the curb while turning right on 94th Avenue, turning wide on to 94th and almost striking the median in the 15200 block of 94th, according to the report.

Gonzalez’s breath smelled like alcohol and he said he had one or two beers at a party in Brookfield earlier in the night, police said.

Gonzalez failed field sobriety tests and was arrested.
