Drunken Driver Curses at Police, Calls them Racist: Blotter

SATURDAY, MARCH 16

Cursing Doesn't Help

Korsica A. Smith, 19, of the 3000 block of Bernice Road in Lansing, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and disobeying a traffic control device, according to a report. Smith was stopped by police after she ran a red light and weaved between lanes.

An officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from Smith's breath, according to the report. She failed field sobriety tests. Smith refused to take a breath test. She reportedly yelled a string of curse words and called police racist.

Smith is due in Bridgeview court on May 1.

Casual Shoplifting

Stevo L. Stojsavljevic, 20, of the 16100 block of Codo Drive in Homer Glen, was charged with retail theft, according to a report. He is accused of taking two bottles of a cologne from Sears, 2 Orland Square Dr., and hiding them in his pockets while pretending to be on the phone.

He is due in Bridgeview court on April 12.

FRIDAY, MARCH 15

Outstanding Warrant

Michael G. Preston, 32, of the 15200 block of Coventry Court in Orland Park, was arrested on an outstanding Will County warrant for failing to appear in court on a weapons charge. Police went to Preston’s address at about 3:45 p.m. to arrest him on the warrant. He was then turned over to Will County Sheriff’s police.
