THURSDAY, OCT. 6

Domestic Battery

Police were called about a domestic disturbance in the 15100 block of El Camino Real Drive around 12:05 a.m.  A woman and a boy were arguing, and the woman kicked the boy in the chest after it escalated, police said. Red marks were found on the boy’s chest and an officer smelled alcohol on the woman’s breath, according to the report. Jeanine E. Balog, 49, of the 15100 block of El Camino Real Drive in Orland Park, was charged with domestic battery.

Reckless Driving

Police were called to a hit-and-run accident in the 9800 block of 151st Street around 1:20 a.m. An officer found a black Chevy sedan facing southwest in the westbound lane and the driver said she was uninjured, police said. The driver said a tan vehicle had been following her with the lights off, until she confronted the man driving and told him to go away, according to the report. The man tried talking to her one more time at 9800 151st Street when she pulled away, according to the report. The man then accelerated, and struck the side of her car with his, turning her car so it faced southwest, before driving away, police said. Officers later found black paint on the front of the tan car, as well as damage, according to the report. Mohummed Ramahi, 19, of the 15500 block of Peachtree Drive, was charged with reckless driving, assault, improper lane use, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving without lights when required, leaving the scene of an accident and driving without proof of insurance.

Violating an Order of Protection

Sepas A. Siddiqui, 19, of the 11100 block of Woodstock Drive in Orland Park, was charged with violating an order of protection. A woman reported to Orland Park police that Siddiqui had called her several times, even though an order of protection forbids him from doing so, police said. He was found at his home and charged around 10:30 a.m.

Water Toss

Noelle M. Sterchele, 18, of the 13300 block of Callan Drive in Orland Park, was charged with resisting a peace officer and two counts of battery. Police were called about a woman who threw a water bottle at a pharmacist at Walgreens, 14680 LaGrange Road, around 2 p.m.

Sterchele was with another woman who was picking up a prescription, when the pharmacist said the prescription couldn’t be filled for about another week because of insurance, according to the report. Sterchele became angry, and threw a water bottle that bounced and hit the pharmacist in the face, leaving a red mark, police said.

The store had surveillance video of the incident, according to the report. Police found Sterchele at her residence, and she denied trying to harm the pharmacist before she resisted being put in handcuffs, police said. Once in custody, she kicked the officer in the leg while walking to the squad car, according to the report.

Dog Bust

Police pulled over a vehicle after it ran a red light on 151st Street at 94th Avenue around 5 p.m. The driver said he didn’t have his license, according to the report. After checking records on the driver and passenger, a K9 unit arrived and searched the vehicle, police said.

A bag of marijuana was found, along with two smoking devices, according to the report. Kyle A. Stocking, 20, of the 7300 block of Sandalwood Drive in Tinley Park, and Dylan L. Skilnik, 19, of the 17100 block of Jeremy Lane in Tinley Park, were both charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Stocking, who was driving, was also cited for driving without a license, improper display of registration, disobeying a traffic control device and driving with a defective windshield.

SUNDAY, OCT. 2

Full Car

John L. Murphy, 23, of the 6700 block of Edgewood Drive in Palos Heights, was charged with driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level greater than .08, improper turning, and possession of marijuana.

Police pulled over a car that crossed over the center lane lines and swerved back and forth in the lane on 82nd Avenue near Forestview Drive around 4:15 a.m. Police smelled alcohol on the driver’s breath and found marijuana inside the car, according to the report. The driver also failed field sobriety tests, police said.

But What About the Rum?

Dena M. Kolios, 22, of the 13900 block of Norwich Lane in Orland Park, was charged with driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level greater than .08, failure to signal, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving an uninsured vehicle.

Police saw a vehicle make several turns without signaling near the 8200 block of Arrowhead Lane around 2:45 a.m. Officers smelled alcohol on the driver’s breath when she exited the car after parking in a driveway, police said. Officers found an opened bottle of rum under the passenger seat, and the driver declined to take field sobriety tests, but later blew into a Breathalyzer, according to the report.
