Orland Park police reports, Oct. 2-10

MONDAY, OCT. 10

iPhone Dash

Police were called about a woman seen taking an iPhone and leaving Best Buy without paying around 5:45 p.m. The woman tried to run from store security but was found in a nearby parking lot, police said. Priscilla A. Lopez, 20, of the 5200 block of South Talman Avenue, Chicago, was charged with felony retail theft.

Stuffed Purses

Police saw two women walking quickly with what appeared to be full purses through the Orland Square Mall parking lot around 5:35 p.m. The women took merchandise that still had tags on them out of their purses, placed them inside a car and walked back into the mall, police said. Another woman, carrying a large purse that appeared full, and a girl then walked to the same car, and unloaded merchandise from the purse before walking back inside, police said. Once all four were together standing near the vehicle, police approached, according to the report. About $600 of merchandise was found. Rashieda J. Saunders, 19, of the 5700 block of South Indiana Avenue in Chicago, as well as Jabrielle S. Marshall, 18, and Jasmine L. Marshall, 19, both of the 5000 block of South Prairie Avenue in Chicago, were each charged with retail theft.

Car Smoke

Police approached two men sitting in a parked car in the Orland Square Mall parking lot around 4:50 p.m. One man was smoking marijuana and the other admitted to having more in his pocket, according to the report. Jonathan T. McGilvery, 22, of the 400 block of Connor Avenue in Lockport, and Adam Borredo, 26, of the first block of Mississippi Avenue in Joliet, were each cited for possession of marijuana.

Domestic Battery

Police were called about a domestic dispute in the 9100 block of Kennedy Court around 6:15 p.m. Police were told that a man pushed a woman while the two were arguing, before choking her and hitting her in the face, police said. An officer saw red marks on the woman’s neck that appeared consistent with the described altercation, according to the report. Jarvis T. Wallace, 19, of the 9100 block of Kennedy Court in Orland Park, was charged with domestic battery.

TUESDAY, OCT. 4

Warrant Arrest

David M. Stewart, 19, of the 14900 block of Hopkins Court in Orland Park, was arrested on warrants for manufacture/delivery of marijuana and criminal trespass to land. He turned himself in to the around 5:35 p.m.

MONDAY, OCT. 3

Warrant Arrest

Police checked registration on a car parked in front of an abandoned house in the 18400 block of Frontage Road around 3:50 p.m. A warrant for theft out of Orland Park was found for the registered owner, who was found near the house, police said. John E. Ericks, 44, of the 10700 block of Louisiana Court in Orland Park, was arrested on a warrant for theft.

SUNDAY, OCT. 2

Wrong Way

Police were called about a possible drunken driver in the 14900 block of Lakeview Drive around 7:15 p.m. The officer found a silver Nissan facing south along a curb in the northbound lane, according to the report. The officer smelled alcohol on the driver’s breath and she failed field sobriety tests, police said. Patricia Scott, 59, of the 13200 block of North Country Club Court in Palos Heights, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, unsafe backing up on a roadway, driving on the wrong side of the road and driving an uninsured vehicle.

Name Game

Police pulled over a vehicle for expired registration in the 8700 block of Creek Crossing Drive around 6:15 p.m. The driver stepped out of his car and said he was at his home, but was ordered by the officer back into his car, police said. The officer smelled burnt marijuana, and later found marijuana wrapped in cigar papers inside the car, according to the report. The driver gave police a false name, and a Harvey warrant was found for his arrest, police said. Derick A. Lowery, 37, of the 8700 block of Crystal Creek Drive in Orland Park was arrested on a warrant for driving with a suspended license, and charged with driving with expired registration, driving without registration, illegal display of registration, driving with a suspended license, obstructing identification and possession of marijuana.
