TUESDAY, DEC. 6

Hat Trick

Police were called about a retail theft at Macy’s around 5:10 p.m. Store security said a man was seen putting a hat underneath the hat he was wearing, and then moving the hat into his jacket sleeve before leaving the store without paying, according to the report. The hat is worth $39.50. Lamont Hendrix-Williams, 18, of the 5500 block of Hermitage Avenue in Chicago, was cited with retail theft.

Hidden Belt

Police were called to Macy’s about a retail theft around 2 p.m. Store security said they saw a man putting on a belt around his waist, and then placed other merchandise into a bag, before leaving the store without paying for the items, police said. The items are worth $90. Nur M. Olwan, 24, of the 8900 block of 55th Avenue in Oak Lawn, was charged with retail theft.

MONDAY, DEC. 5

Warrant Arrest

Police pulled over a car for turning without signaling on 143rd Street west of Southwest Highway around midnight. An active warrant was found for a passenger, police said. Michael J. Skandera, 28, of the 1300 block of Hamilton Street in Lockport, was arrested on a Will County failure-to-appear warrant for driving with a suspended license.

Hidden Scale

Police pulled over a car when the driver was seen not wearing a seat belt at 139th Street and Wolf Road around 1:50 a.m. The officer smelled a slight odor of marijuana in the vehicle, according to the report. A digital scale was found in the car with marijuana residue on it, police said. David M. Stewart, 19, of the 14900 block of Hopkins Court in Orland Park, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without wearing a seat belt.

SATURDAY, DEC. 3

Lights Off

Police pulled over a vehicle for driving without headlights on at Harlem Avenue and 154th Street around 11:55 p.m. The officer smelled marijuana while talking to the driver and two passengers, according to the report. Three small bags of marijuana were found, and the driver said they belonged to him, though the officer found he wasn’t under the influence at the time, police said. Naseem Z. Ali, 19, of the 8100 block of Justin Court in Tinley Park, was cited with possession of marijuana.
