Orland Park Teen in New Year's Day Car Crash Dies: Report

An Orland Park teen died Friday from injuries he received in a New Year's Day car accident in Homer Glen, according to a Sun-Times Media report.
Hakeem Samara, 18, was driving east on 143rd Street, near Saddlebrook Road, in Homer Glen on Wednesday afternoon when his car slid on the icy road and hit another vehicle, the report stated. Samara's car was sent into a ditch and crashed into a tree, the report added.

Samara, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to New Lenox's Silver Cross Hospital. He was pronounced dead Friday morning, the report stated.
