Marijuana, Pills Seized

Two Tinley Park men and one juvenile were arrested for harboring 59 grams of marijuana and several prescription pills.

Sharif I. Ali, 19, of the 8100 block of Justin Court; Mohamed Elayyan, 19, of the 18100 block of Goesel Drive; and a juvenile were charged with possession of cannabis and possession of a controlled substance.

Their car was stopped at Plum Tree Drive and 157th Street around 12:30 a.m. for making a turn off 80th Avenue into the outermost lane. In the car, police also found a metal grinder and a blunt, according to the report. Ali was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

The pills were taken to Walgreens, where a pharmacist identified them as Clonazepam, police said.

Another passenger in the car was released without charges, police said.

Aggravated DUI Filed

Joel Perez, 33, of the 2500 block of 46th Street in Chicago, was charged with aggravated driving under the influence (DUI), DUI, driving on a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage. Police said they stopped Perez’s car in the 16000 block of Wolf Road around midnight for swerving between lanes.

Perez had an active Illinois State Police warrant for DUI, and his car was subsequently seized by Orland Park police, according to the report.

March 6

Minor Consumption

Carlos Rodriquez, 18, of the 10700 block of Kostner Avenue in Oak Lawn, was charged with retail theft and illegal consumption of alcohol. Orland Square Mall security told police Rodriquez left a department store around 4 p.m. with a $30 pair of sunglasses in his pocket.

MARCH 4

Barking Dog

Mary L. Homolka, 54, of the 14000 block of Sheri Lane in Orland Park, was charged with disturbing the peace. Police said Homolka’s barking dog kept the neighbors up. Police tried contacting Homolka around 3 a.m. when they first received a complaint but couldn’t reach her until 6:15 a.m., according to the report.

One Headlight

Dayonte T. Davis, 20, of the 8500 block of 88th Terrace in Justice, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with one headlight. Police said they stopped Davis’ car in the 14900 block of LaGrange Road around 11:15 p.m. and found a grinder in the center console.

Team Theft Filed

Police said two women stole $211 worth of clothing from a store in the 100 block of Orland Park Place and fled. Their car was stopped in the 17900 block of LaGrange Road around 5:30 p.m., according to the report.

Jasmine T. Murphy, 24, of the 10100 block of Aberdeen Street in Chicago, and Terra J. Hardy, 21, of the 7900 block of Blackstone Street in Chicago, were charged with retail theft. Murphy was also charged with driving on a suspended license.

Video Game Theft Filed

Lamont Simms, 23, of the 14600 block of Kentucky Avenue in Harvey, was charged with felony retail theft. Orland Square Mall security told police that Simms put a video game controller in his coat pocket and left the mall around 11:30 a.m. without paying. An assistant state’s attorney upgraded a misdemeanor charge to felony retail theft because Simms has previous convictions for larceny.

Disorderly Conduct

Daniel Molinari, 18, of the 9100 block of Orland Court in Orland Park, was charged with disorderly conduct. Police said Molinari woke his neighbor up around 1 a.m. by banging on his floor. The neighbor told police Molinari makes loud noises in the middle of the night on purpose because she previously had called the police on him.
