Police Blotter: Battery and Phone Harassment; Three Groups of Female Shoplifters Arrested on Same Day

Orland Park police reports, July 12-16

SATURDAY, JULY 16

Battery and Phone Harassment

David B. Kendall, 22, of the 15600 block of Bramblewood Road in Oak Forest, was charged with domestic battery, harassment by phone and criminal damage to vehicle.

In a parking lot in the 15600 block of Harlem Avenue, around 11 p.m., Kendall struck a woman in the chest and then pulled her by the arm, police said. He also struck the woman’s windshield with a closed fist, causing it to crack, and threw her personal items into the street. Witnesses told police that Kendall threatened them when they came to the woman’s aid, saying, “I know where you live,” and took off on foot.

While police questioned the woman, she received 35 phone calls from Kendall, and in several of them he threatened to surprise her at work and “bust up” her face, according to the report. Kendall turned himself over to police on July 18 at 6:30 a.m., police said.

Female Group Shoplifting

Three women were accused of leaving an Orland Square Mall department store around 8 p.m. without paying for several articles of clothing. Shannon P. Tucker, 24, of the 200 block of Fairbanks Avenue in Joliet; Lanisha S. Housley, 20, of the 800 block of Iroquois Street in Joliet; and Latrice M. Duria, 23, of the 1100 block of Raynor Street in Joliet, were charged with retail theft. Various bags of clothing, without receipts, were found in Duria’s car and confiscated, police said.

Female Group Shoplifting II

Three women were accused of stuffing their purses with clothing and jewelry from several Orland Square Mall stores and leaving around 3:30 p.m. without paying. Diamond S. Dickerson, 18, of the 3400 block of Fountain Bleau in Hazel Crest; Telicia N. Rice, 20, of the 800 block of 90th Place in Chicago; and Tyler O. Holmes, 18, of the 17700 block of Springfield Avenue in Country Club Hills, were charged with retail theft. The value of the goods totaled $184, police said.

Female Group Shoplifting III

Two women were accused of stuffing a purse with clothing and leaving an Orland Square Mall store around 3 p.m. without paying. Rajahni T. Collins-Mobley, 20, of the 200 block of 146th Street in Dolton, and Terra J. Hardy, 22, of the 7900 block of Blackstone Street in Chicago, were charged with retail theft and criminal damage to property. The women damaged each article of clothing by removing the sensor tags, according to the report. The value of the goods totaled $473, police said.

Criminal Trespass, Underage Drinking

David M. Stewart, 19, of the 14900 block of Hopkins Court in Orland Park, was charged with criminal trespass to property and underage consumption of alcohol after he allegedly refused to leave a home in the 10400 block of Capistrano Lane around 2 a.m. Police said Stewart was uncooperative, throwing his identification at their feet and trying to kick out the back of a squad car window on the ride to the station.

A resident of the home, Leah M. Hanlon, 18, of the 10400 block of Capistrano Lane in Orland Park, was charged with underage consumption of alcohol.

TUESDAY, JULY 12

Private Fireworks Show

Two men were accused of blowing off fireworks in a park after hours. Daniel J. Greenfield, 18, of the 14100 block of Michael Drive in Orland Park, and Gustavo Monroy, 20, of the 1300 block of U.S. 41 North in Calhoun, Ga., were charged with disorderly conduct, possession of fireworks and being in a park at 12:30 a.m. Police said they found two empty bottles of toilet bowl cleaner in Gustavo’s backpack, as well as several fireworks. According to the report, the same park has been damaged several times in the last couple weeks with carvings and fireworks.
