Orland Park police reports, July 5-7

WEDNESDAY, JULY 6

Theft from a Residence

Mario C. Rodriguez, 20, of the 10700 block of West Voss Drive in Orland Park, was charged with theft. A woman called police July 2 saying Rodriguez had been staying at her residence in the 16800 block of Rainbow Circle, and the woman noticed several items were missing from the home, including a gaming system, police said. A witness said Rodriguez might have taken some video games and DVDs to Disc Replay, where they could be traded in for cash. Disc Replay told police Rodriguez brought in a total of 19 items, of which 17 were recovered. Rodriguez was picked up by bike patrol at 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of Wheeler and Catalina drives.

Retail Theft from Ulta

Marion Bridgeman, 45, of the 3500 block of West 198th Street in Flossmoor, was charged with felony retail theft. Police went to Ulta, 15754 LaGrange Rd., after a manager said a woman took two bottles of perfume from a display and left without paying around 7:30 p.m. on June 28. Bridgeman was picked up by Flossmoor police at her residence just before 2 a.m. on July 6. The Assistant State's Attorney approved the felony charge. Bail was set July 6.

Retail Theft from Marshall's

Courtney A. Stuckey, 21, of the 1100 block of East 93rd Street in Chicago, was cited for retail theft. Loss prevention at Marshall's, 101 Orland Park Place, saw Stuckey take two perfume bottles and place them in her purse and exit the store at 3:30 p.m., police said. Stuckey was released at the scene.

High Speed Leads to Weed

Samuel P. Lardino, 18, of the 13100 block of Meadow Hill Lane in Lemont, was cited for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police in the 13900 block of 82nd Avenue saw Lardino driving 56 mph in a 40 mph zone around 12:15 a.m., according to the report The officer later stopped Lardino in the 8500 block of 135th Street after Lardino made two turns without signaling, police said. A search of the car found a glass pipe and a small bag of cannabis, according to the report. Lardino also was issued traffic tickets and was released at the scene.

TUESDAY, JULY 5

Switching Bar Codes

John M. Ovalle, 21, of the 9300 block of South Sawyer Avenue in Evergreen Park, and David Soria, 24, of the 2800 block of West 21st Street in Chicago, each were charged with retail theft. Loss prevention at Best Buy, 15854 LaGrange Rd., saw two men switching bar codes on BluRay discs and lower-priced DVDs, according to a police report. The two then left the store without paying the full price around 9:30 p.m., police said. The men fled the scene but were stopped just one block away, according to the report. They were released on bond.

Retail Theft at Macy's

Anthony C. Brown, Jr., 20, of the 15100 block of Beachview Terrace in Dolton, was charged with retail theft. Loss prevention at Macy's, 1 Orland Square Drive, saw Brown take two baseball hats from a display, roll them into a ball and place them in a backpack around 3:15 p.m., police said. Brown had a total of four hats in the bag, totaling $125 in value, according to the report.
