WEDNESDAY, JUNE 15

Mysterious Blue Liquid

John Khouri, 42, of the 1400 block of Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, was cited for violating a hazardous materials ordinance. An officer saw a large amount of blue liquid coming from a trucking dock on the 15600 block of 70th Avenue, according to police, and also saw a large puddle under a yellow moving van around 12:30 p.m. Police said the rain caused the material to wash into the sewer. The caller told police his brother saw Khouri dump the liquid out of the back warehouse dock onto the ground, according to the report. He was released on the scene and is due in court July 12.

Hit and Run

Ammer J. Khouri, 31, of the 16300 block of West Lakeside Drive in Lockport, was issued charges relating to a hit-and-run accident. The accident occurred around noon after the victim noticed a southbound car move into the northbound lanes to pass others in the 15800 block of Wolf Road, police said. Khouri later passed the victim on the shoulder and swiped the passenger side, and he did not stop, according to the report. Khouri was issued tickets and charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

In-State Warrant

Lauren M. Kelly, 27, of the 9500 block of LaCrosse Avenue in Oak Lawn, turned herself in to Orland Park Police around 11:30 a.m. on outstanding warrant. The warrant was from June 7 in Midlothian for failure to appear on a DUI charge.

THURSDAY, JUNE 9

Power Drill Attachments

Bruce R. Verdone, 23, of the 14500 block of Richmond Avenue in Posen was charged with retail theft. Police were called to Home Depot, 7300 159th St, where a loss prevention employee was chasing a suspect. Other employees recognized Verdone, who is suspected in the theft of circuit breakers two days earlier, police said. Witnesses said around 10 a.m., he removed power tool attachments and placed them under his shirt and in his waist band, police said.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 8

Retail Theft

Jody B. Piet, 51, of the 11900 block of North Pinecreek Drive in Orland Park, was charged with retail theft. At Kohl's, 3 Orland Park Place, loss prevention told police Piet was seen removing clothing items from the racks and concealing them in her shopping bags, according to the report. She walked out of upper level without paying for the items around 6 p.m., police said. She also had a ring on her finger that had been stolen, police said.

TUESDAY, JUNE 7

Disorderly Conduct Charges

Pablo F. Veguilla, 41, of the  15800 block of Orlan Brook Drive in Orland Park, was charged with disorderly conduct. Police say a neighbor came to the station on June 7 after meeting with a representative from Orland Crime Free Housing, and wanted to file disorderly conduct complaints. The neighbor said that Veguilla was fighting loudly with his wife the night before around 7:30 p.m., and that it has been an ongoing problem, according to the report. The neighbor saw Veguilla slam the condo entrance door and his unit's door several times, police said.

SATURDAY, JUNE 4

Rumble at Rocwelz

Gregory S. Bates, 23, of the 11600 block of 139th Street in Orland Park, was charged with domestic battery and criminal damage to property. a woman called police and said on the night prior, around 11:30 p.m., the victim was arguing with Bates inside Rocwelz Bar, 11285 159th St., according to police. Bates grabbed the victim's cell phone, exited the bar, and smashed her phone on pavement, police said. After the victim became irate, Bates began to yell and spit at her. Bates had been previously charged for domestic battery in Champaign. Bates turned himself into police on June 7.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1

The Purse is in My Bag

James M. Lynch, 50, of the 14300 block of LaGrange Road in Orland Park, was charged with burglary from a motor vehicle. A witness called police and said that he saw someone burglarize a vehicle in the lot outside a business in the 14300 block of LaGrange Road, around 2:30 p.m. The caller said he saw Lynch grab something and run to a nearby apartment building. Police found Lynch near some dumpsters. Lynch ran from police and was later Tased, police said. The car owner said a purse had been stolen from the car. Police recovered the purse near one of the dumpsters, wrapped in a bag with the Lynch's name on it. The assistant state's attorney's office approved a felony charge.
