Two women were charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said they stopped a car in the 8400 block of 159th Street around 11 p.m. for driving without headlights and smelled marijuana.
Police said they found two pipes and a total of 13 grams of marijuana between Sahar A. Assi, 29, of the 7400 block of 56th Street in Summit, and Adrienne M. Starzyk, 27, of the 7700 block of 82nd Place in Bridgeview. Eleven of those grams came from a bag hidden in Starzyk’s boot, police said.

MONDAY, MAY 2
Tooth Chipper
Kestutis Laurinaitis, 50, of the 16800 block of 89th Court in Orland Hills, was charged with domestic battery. During an argument in his home, Laurinaitis punched a woman in the mouth, chipping one of her teeth, police said. He was arrested around 2 a.m.

SATURDAY, APRIL 30
Magic Mushrooms
Joshua J. Kopischke, 21, of the 16200 block of Haven Avenue in Orland Hills, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of cannabis. Police said they stopped Kopischke’s car in the 16000 block of 90th Avenue around 10 p.m. for blowing a stop sign. After smelling marijuana, police found 2 grams of it in Kopischke’s front pocket and 21 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms in the center console of his car, according to the report.
FRIDAY, APRIL 29
The Sun Also Rises
Kathleen C. Kelly, 46, of the 9300 block of Sunrise Lane in Orland Park, was charged with DUI and non-working headlight. Police said they stopped Kelly’s car in the 8900 block of 159th Street around 2 a.m. for driving with only one working headlight. Police smelled alcohol on her breath. Kelly told police she left her purse at a bar in Orland Hills and was returning there to pick it up.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 27
Domestic Investigation Shows Warrant
Wesley O. Trotter, 23, of the 9300 block of Hunter Drive in Orland Hills, was arrested for failing to appear in court while police were investigating a possible domestic battery. Police came by Trotter’s home around 11:30 a.m. after receiving a call about a woman who had been grabbed during a heated argument. The woman refused to press charges against Trotter.
IDENTITY THEFTS FOR APRIL
- A 45-year-old woman told police someone made a fraudulent purchase with her credit card in South Carolina on April 17.
- A 42-year-old woman told police someone used her credit card in Iowa on April 25 and in Georgia on April 26.
