Orland Park police reports, April 16-17

SUNDAY, APRIL 17

Not a Reasonable Place to Park

Police said a car was seen stopped in the right turn lane facing north at 94th Avenue and 149th Street and stayed there when the light changed, around 5:45 a.m. The driver was found asleep with the car in drive and his foot on the break pedal, police said. The officer raised his voice while knocking on the door to get the driver’s attention, police said. Officers asked him to put the car in park, but the driver didn’t seem to understand, according to the report. The driver smelled like alcohol and failed field sobriety tests, police said. Russell D. Foster, 24, of the 7800 block of Luella Drive in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level greater than .08 and improper parking in a roadway.

Wall Shakers

Police were called about people screaming in an apartment in the 9100 block of Lincoln Court around 3:25 p.m. Police were told that women were cursing at each other and walls were shaking for about 30 minutes, according to the report. Police then spoke with two women in the apartment where noise came from, and said they had been called to the apartment building before about the same thing, according to the report. Lauren A. Baker, 27, and Talia R. Bishop, 24, both of the 9100 block of Lincoln Court in Orland Park, each was cited for disorderly conduct and breach of peace.

Travel Bag

Police were called to Kohl’s by store security who said they saw a woman taking earrings out of the packaging and placing them in her jacket pockets around 3:45 p.m. The officer arrived and saw a woman leaving the store who matched the description, police said. Security also saw the woman purchase other items from the store, but not the earrings, according to the report. Five pairs of earrings were found, worth a total of $64. A small ziplock bag containing marijuana was found on the woman after she was taken into custody, police said. Wykeeta L. Davis, 26, of the 7500 block of Parnell Avenue in Chicago, was charged with retail theft and possession of marijuana.

Dressing Room Houdini

Police were called to Macy’s by security about a woman who was seen taking items into dressing rooms, leaving some items behind while putting others in a shopping bag and then leaving the store without paying, around 6:45 p.m. The items are worth a total of $267.33, police said. Catherine M. McQuinn, 53, of the 14000 block of Laramie Avenue in Crestwood, was charged with retail theft.

Houdini Duo

Police were called to Sears by security who said a man and woman left the store without paying for items around 6:50 p.m. Security said the two were pushing a stroller with a number of empty shopping bags hanging from it, according to the report. After they both took merchandise from shelves, the woman went into a dressing room with store items and one of the empty bags, and then left the dressing area with a full bag, police said. These acts were repeated a few times, according to the report. The merchandise is worth $254.95. A grandparent was called to take care of the two-year-old child, according to police. Aydee Cossyleon, 19, of the 100 block of Delmar Drive in Bolingbrook, and Amador Banuelos, 19, of the 3400 block of Oak Park Avenue in Berwyn, each was charged with retail theft.
