Police Blotter: Three DUIs in Two Days; Forgery

Orland Park police reports, Jan. 11-14

SATURDAY, JAN. 14

Wolf Road DUI

Carolyn E. Booth, 41, of the Sibley Boulevard in Calumet City, was charged with driving under the influence, disobeying a traffic control device, driving without proof of insurance and two counts of improper lane use. Police said her car was pulled over in the 15100 block of Wolf Road around 3:45 a.m. for swerving and stopping at a green light. Booth failed field sobriety and Breathalyzer tests after stopping, police said.

159th St DUI

Eric J. Beran, 21, of the 14700 block of Central Avenue in Oak Forest, was charged with DUI and improper lane use. Police said they approached and spoke with Beran in the 9100 block of 159th Street around 3:30 a.m. after his car spun out. He was arrested after failing field sobriety and Breathalyzer tests, according to the report.

Drug Possession

Jeremy T. Leonard, 19, of the 1200 block of Santa Fe Road in Romeoville, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said they stopped Leonard’s car near 143rd Street and Wolf Road around 4:30 p.m. for driving with expired tags. An officer smelled marijuana and found a glass pipe and 2.7 grams of marijuana were found in his car, according to the report.

Leonard contends that the pipe and marijuana belonged to a friend who had been riding in his car earlier that day. In an e-mail to Patch, he wrote, "I took the blame ... because I was the only one in my car at the time of getting pulled over."

FRIDAY, JAN. 13

LaGrange Road DUI

Faryad F. Rezazadeh, 45, of the 900 block of Oakley Boulevard in Chicago, was charged with DUI, driving with expired registration, failure to reduce speed to avoid accident and driving an uninsured vehicle. Police said Rezazadeh rear-ended a car near the Panera Bread parking lot at LaGrange Road and 151st Street around 2 p.m. and was stopped from fleeing by the car he struck. He failed field sobriety and Breathalyzer tests, according to the report.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 11

Forgery

Sa Quita Jones, 29, of the 400 block of Maple Drive in Glenwood, was charged with forgery, unlawful possession of fraudulent identification card and obstructing identification. Employees at a store in the 15800 block of LaGrange Road told police that Jones made a purchase of $446 with a fake check around 8 p.m., police said. In the parking lot, she handed police an Indiana identification card with a different name, according to the report.
