Tinley Park Man Threatens Family, Says He Will Kill Orland Park Couple: Police

A fight between two families led to a disorderly conduct charge for a Tinley Park man, according to a report.

A 40-year-old Tinley Park man threatened to kill an Orland Park couple in front of officers, police said.

James J. Lewis, 40, of the 7500 block of West 161st Place, Tinley Park, is charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct, according to an Orland Park police report. He is due on May 22 in Bridgeview court.

Police found Lewis yelling and clenching his fists at about 8:43 p.m. on April 10 near the 7600 block of Ponderosa Court, according to the report. He repeatedly said he was "going to kill" the couple. Additional officers were called to calm Lewis down.

The son of the Orland Park couple told police Lewis’ brother and his parents got into a fight earlier that day, according to the report. Lewis then came to the family's Ponderosa Court home and pounded on the door.

Lewis said he planned to fight the couple and punch the man’s mother in the face, according to the witness’ statements. He then began waiting for the couple to return.

Lewis was taken to Orland Park Police Department and told not to return to the family's home, before being released.
