WD-40 Can Allegedly Used to Hide Pot: Blotter

SATURDAY, APRIL 6

Outstanding Warrant

Temike R. Madden, 31, of the 700 block of Chestnut Avenue, Park City, was arrested on an outstanding Orland Park warrant for retail theft, according to a report. Madden had been picked up by Olympia Field police and dropped off at the Orland Park Police Department. She was later taken to the Cook County jail to await a bond hearing.

DUI Charges For Jetta Driver

Ryan C. Bennett, 23, of the 7900 block of Woodruff Drive, Orland Park, was charged with driving under the influence, driving without insurance, driving without a license on person and improper lane use, according to a report. Police reported seeing a gray Volkswagen Jetta make a wide right turn at about 3:06 a.m. in the 15200 block of 80th Avenue. An officer stopped the car and noticed the driver had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. Bennett refused to take any field sobriety tests. He is due on May 15 in Bridgeview court.

THURSDAY, APRIL 4

WD-40 Can Allegedly Used To Hide Pot

Patrick Zalesko, 19, of the 8400 block of Rob Roy Drive, Orland Park, was charged with delivery of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding, according to a report. An officer spotted a car traveling at a high rate of speed at about 4:22 p.m. in the 8600 block of Wheeler Drive, according to a report. Police stopped the car and noticed an odor of burnt marijuana coming from it. The driver, Zalesko, consented to a search. Police found a one-hitter pipe, rolling papers and a baggie with a green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana. A search of the car turned up a can of WD-40 with a false bottom. An officer found rolling papers, a metal smoking pipe and five baggies of a substance that also tested positive for marijuana inside the can. Zalesko was due on April 22 in Cook County court.

SATURDAY, MARCH 30

Loud Muffler Attracts Cop's Attention

Scott W. Higgins, 27, of the 7100 block of 175th Street, Tinley Park, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a report. Police noticed a Dodge Stealth at about 10:21 p.m. in the 15400 block of 94th Avenue driving without a front license plate and a “very loud muffler.” Police stopped the car and asked Higgins if they could search his car. An officer allegedly found a glass pipe and a plastic bag that contained 1.5 grams of a green, leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana. Higgins is due on May 1 in Bridgeview court.
