Woman Found with Almost $700 in Stolen Merchandise: Blotter

A Chicago woman is facing theft charges after she was found with unpaid coats and makeup worth close to $700, police said.

A Chicago woman was accused of stealing makeup and coats worth about $700, according to an Orland Park Police report.

Martha A. Reyes, 27, of the 6500 block of South Komensky Avenue in Chicago, was charged with theft and retail theft over $300.

On Nov. 15, the Orland Park Police Department was called to Sephora in Orland Square Mall about a woman held for retail theft. Store security said the woman, Reyes, was seen taking a makeup kit from a display and placing it in a large bag she was carrying, according to the report. She then took a smaller item to the cash register and paid for it, but didn’t pay for the makeup kit before leaving the store, police said.

Police blotter information is provided by the Orland Park Police Department. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions taken on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
