Gorman Sponsors Property Tax Appeal Saturday

Cook County Commissioner Elizabeth "Liz" Doody Gorman will be co-sponsoring a property tax appeals seminar at 10 a.m. Saturday at township hall in cooperation with Board of Review Commissioner Dan Patlak.

The hourlong seminar will educate taxpayers on the overall process, explaining how to file and present evidence for a successful appeal.
 
The seminar is designed to clarify the assessment appeal process.  Taxpayers who make a convincing case for assessment reduction will receive the tax relief to which they are entitled.

The deadline for filing an appeal for your 2010 taxes is April 22.  Please bring your most recent property tax bill to the seminar with you, so the staff of the Board of Review can assist you in completing the forms necessary for appeal.
