Gimme 5: Fifer Keeps Sandburg Offense on Track

Eagles' junior setter can talk a little trash now with some of his club teammates.

Sandburg's Scott Fifer was playing the part of quarterback for the Eagles.

He connected on nearly every pass. He had 28 assists and five blocks in Sandburg's against Providence in boys volleyball last Wednesday.

The junior setter faced a pair of familiar foes in two of Providence's players. He's had experience on a club team with Marty Ross and Zac Magallones.

The matchup of Sandburg vs. Providence was a possible preview of the sectional semifinal later this month. Last year, the two teams met in that round of postseason play and Providence came out the victor. This year, Fifer and the Eagles hope to settle the score.

Fifer returned about midway through the season after an injury had kept him sidelined. He is undecided about where he will attend college, but plans to play volleyball and study business.
