IDOT Announces Overnight Closure of LaGrange Road For Old Metra Bridge Demolition

The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that, weather permitting, there will be overnight full closures of U.S. Rt. 45/La Grange Rd. for approximately ten nights starting Feb. 10th for bridge demolition work. IDOT will be demolishing the old Metra Southwest Service bridge over La Grange Rd. in advance of additional contracts scheduled to be let this year for the $90 million reconstruction and widening of La Grange Rd. from 131st St. to 179th St.

A new Metra railroad bridge was constructed last summer.

Weather permitting, starting next Sunday, the road will be closed between 135th St. and 143rd St. from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning. These closures will be in effect from Sunday through Thursday nights and are scheduled for 10 nights.
