Village of Orland Park Sportsplex Offers Kids & Teens Fitness

Orland Park, IL – The Village of Orland Park Sportsplex is offering programs for kids and teens wanting to improve their health and fitness routines.   A number of programs are available for those wanting to exercise, learn about nutrition and healthy eating habits, or get in better shape for sports performance.

Fitwise for Kids and Teens is supervised by a certified instructor enables children to work out in the fitness center. Participants will learn nutrition, proper stretching and healthy eating habits and will be encouraged to set realistic goals for themselves. There is a limit of eight children per class and a fee of $75 for Village of Orland Park residents, $113 for non-residents and $70 for Sportsplex members.  Session II will begin June 3. Children participating must be at least 7.

Team Makers is a new program lead by a certified personal trainer. This class will utilize the fitness center and track to perform fitness conditioning. Children will learn how to jump higher, run faster, throw farther and get in better shape for sports performance. There is a limit of 10 children per class and a fee of $100 for Village of Orland Park residents, $115 for non-residents and $95 for Sportsplex members.  Session II begins June 4. Children participating must be at least 8.

The Fitness Camp program will offer children the chance to use the fitness center, learn nutrition, eating tips and recipes, experience fitness through activity, work on strength training, practice yoga, and sample group exercise classes. Participants should bring a healthy snack and water bottle to class. There is a limit of 15 children per class and a fee of $50 for Village of Orland Park residents, $75 for non-residents and $45 for Sportsplex members.  There are several sessions that will be offered between June and July. This class is offered to children ages 7 to 13.
