Nearly $2,500 in Electronics Bought with Bogus Credit Card: Blotter

MONDAY, APRIL 22

Counterfeit Credit Card

Tiffany J. Canty, 26, of the 8200 block of Escanaba Avenue, Chicago, was charged with possession of a counterfeit credit card, according to a report. Police were called about three people using a fake credit card at about 5:56 a.m. at the Orland Square Mall, 524 Orland Square Dr. Two of the woman said they did not know anything about a bogus credit card when asked about it by police.A witness allegedly identified Canty as the one who used the card to buy $1,818.67 worth of items from Buckle, according to the report. She also was found to be wanted on a warrant from DuPage County for retail theft.

SUNDAY, APRIL 21

DUI Charge for Justice Man

Michael S. Jagiello, 24, of the 9000 block of Concord Lane, Justice, was charged with driving under the influence, failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash, improper lane use and driving with in the wrong lane, according to a report. Jagiello was involved in a crash at about 3:05 a.m. near the intersection of 131st Street and LaGrange Road.Police reported smelling a strong odor of alcohol coming from Jagiello’s mouth, according to the report. He was arrested after performing field sobriety tests. Jagiello was due on May 15 in Bridgeview court.

THURSDAY, APRIL 18

Outstanding Warrant

Ogechi Onyenso, 31, of the 10800 block of Crystal Ridge Court, Orland Park, was arrested on an Chicago warrant for failing to appear in court, according to a report. Police arrested her in the 10800 block of Crystal Ridge Court. Bail on the warrant was set at $5,000. He was due on May 13 in court.

Fraudulent Card Purchases

Michael Wandland, 49, of the 10900 block of Wabash Avenue, Chicago, was charged with identity theft, according to a report. He is accused of fraudulently opening up a credit card and using it to make purchases at Sears, 2 Orland Square Dr.Police arrested Wandland while he was waiting to pick up the four televisions, two laptops and a surround-sound system he allegedly bought, according to the report. The total value of the items was $2,499.
